Semen Gresik Holds a Kick-Off Meeting on the Self-Assessment of Good Corporate Governance

Rembang, November 18, 2022 - PT Semen Gresik (PTSG) held a Kick-Off Meeting on the Self-Assessment of Good Corporate Governance (GCG) with the theme “Implementing the GCG Principles in the Company’s Business Activities”. The event was virtually attended by the President Director of PTSG, Subhan, along with PTSG’s Board of Management and employees.

The President Director of PTSG, Subhan, explained that during the Kick-Off Meeting on the Self-Assessment, all employees were provided with an understanding of GCG practices in the company culture. The GCG implementation assessment process is carried out from November 15, 2022, to January 31, 2023.

“The Company has committed to improving the GCG principles implementation in various aspects, not only in the anti-corruption behavior but also in broader parameters in the Company’s business processes in a sustainable manner,” said Subhan in his press release (18/11).

Since 2019, Subhan added, PTSG has carried out a GCG assessment every year. In 2021, the Company managed to achieve a score of 92.6 or “excellence” predicate for GCG implementation.

“In 2022, the main target is to implement GCG principles satisfactorily in various parameters, besides just to attain the excellent predicate,” he said.

He continued that PTSG was among the first companies to design a long-term corporate plan (RJPP), an accurate strategy for facing the increasingly tight global market challenges.

“All Semen Gresik personnel are expected to consistently and properly apply the GCG principles by reflecting the principles of transparency, responsibility, accountability, and fairness as the bases for the work culture to maintain the sustainability of the Company. Hopefully, the efforts will bring blessings, and they can run the Company better amid the tough challenges of the global industry. I am sure we can face these challenges successfully by applying the GCG principles,” said Subhan.

Meanwhile, the speaker at the kick-off meeting on the GCG self-assessment, Eri Sumiyarso, said that in implementing the GCG principles, it is necessary to pay attention to the governance between the parent and subsidiary companies in a professional, accountable, transparent, and efficient manner.

“The proper GCG implementation can increase operational efficiency, control risk mitigation, reduce access costs to the capital market, and improve the Company’s reputation,” he concluded.
